DINING
Food is important

Apple Pan
Apple Pan is a family-owned Los Angeles burger bar staple that's been around since 1947. It's a small place with a simple menu and delicious, burgers, shakes, and pie. You can't go wrong with a classic, and this is as classic as it gets with 70 years of a simple menu with recipes that have never changed in its long history. Instead of going to the tourist trap of Johnny Rockets, we highly recommend trying the original.
We recommend: Hickory Burger, Fries, and Apple Pie w/ Ice Cream

République
If you want an incredible breakfast/brunch, this is the place for it. Upon entry, there is an immediately enticing display case of incredible pastries and desserts to tempt you while you look at a menu offering the most incredible savory meals, which leads you down a gluttonous rabbit hole, but it is very much worth it. For dinner everything transforms into french fine dining with dishes so rich, covered in truffles, uni, and parmesan.
We recommend: Kimchi Fried Rice, French Toast, Paris-Brest

Sugarfish
If you're as indecisive as we are, Sugarfish is where you need to eat. Kazunori Nozawa has founded many of Los Angeles' most frequented sushi restaurants including the Kazunori hand roll bars and the upscale Nozawa Bar, but Sugarfish is the best go-to for no-nonsense sushi. Though you can add or substitute certain items if need be, there are 3 set menus to suit your appetite.

Howlin' Rays
Be warned. This fried chicken is hot. With spice levels from Country (no spice) to Howlin' (face melting) everybody can enjoy how incredible this chicken is. It's a small restaurant now but if you can find a table inside you'll have an even better experience watching all the food get made, talking with the cooks and if you're lucky you'll get some freebies. Don't be a hero when it comes to spice level, if you want to avoid all-day pain, stay away from Howlin'. We recommend going at 3-4p to avoid the hours-long lines.
We recommend: The Sando, Shake Fries
